I don't really enjoy the art, and I think Pilkey's plots are over-the-top silly (I know they are supposed to be - target audience and all). My son loves these books, and when he'll read to me (we take turns) I often find myself tuning out or drifting in thought because I just can't bring myself to care about what is happening in the story. In the 'How 2 Draw' section, Invisible Petey is included. However, it is not counted as a drawing because if Petey is invisible, it is just a white blank.Big Jim and Grampa make a cameo after they started arguing about Grampa calling Big Jim "buddy" when they were in the pink Sippy Cup. Petey the Cat is at it again- he's escaped from jail and is determined to take over the world, but gets distracted by a cloning snafu which results in a ridiculously adorable kitty version of himself, one who is more inclined to make friends than cause evil havoc.

Afterwards, Chief asks who got him the dots again, making the cops zong off the panel in dumbfoundment. Then, Dog Man reveals the fish from a box. Chief says he always wanted a fish, puts it on an orange stool with stripes, and names it Flippy. One of the cops reminds Chief to take the dots. Chief reads the instructions, and they say: " Don't take a lot... never more than a dot. Or something may happen... we ain't saying what." Chief takes one dot, and goes to Lunch. He slams the door way too hard. and the dots fall into Flippy's bowl. The book says that Flippy's brain grew eleven sizes, as he smiles an evil grin. Chapter 4: The Big Robbery [ ] This is the second time someone has mentioned Batman. The first was Li'l Petey in Dog Man: Brawl of The Wild. Note: it Could be Possible that this book takes, place About one week after the events of Grime and Punishment, Likely due to Petey mentioning some things that happen in that book as a week ago. It came out around the same time as when Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants was in full color. This is the first Dog Man book not to feature a George & Harold intro or a recap of "Our Story Thus Far."
