Description

I should probably ask you what your use for the mouse is, but if that mx518 has been serving you well all this time, there's probably no reason to abandon Logitech. That is testament to the incredible build quality on this mouse, that its still working years after it was made. The G400s(and other variants) was mentioned earlier in this thread multiple times and it's the mouse I'm using right now.

The Logitech G MX518 Legendary mouse is a revived version of the original Logitech G MX518, which was released in 2005. DISCLAIMER: I've been having weird bugs with the magnetic cable, where it makes the G HUB software think my battery is at zero. I generally aimed for 30% infill, but most of the parts don't have thick enough features for that to matter. Before I begin talking about the new MX 518 G, you should note that I own original MX 518 for 15 years and I also had 2x MX 510. but since you're considering the Rival, you also have the option of the Zowie EC1 eVo CL if you use a good solid-coloured mousepad.

As mentioned earlier, the scroll wheel has plus and minus buttons above and below it, but there is another button even further back in the centre. I’m sorry if those figures are incorrect, to weigh the mice I used a baking scale that is at least 40 years old since nothing better was available). Although every single review online stated that mouse tracks from height of 2 DVDs, in my case, it doesn’t. I know this for a fact since I suffered from a terrible bout of RSI induced tendonitis last year – a direct result of how I use a mouse.

Although MX 518 does not use safe shape, and some people will dislike it because of it, it’s shape over time will imprint so much on you, that you will look for it in other mice. This video is what I followed to locate all the screws, you just have to completely remove the PCBs and other internals from the mouse. The MX518 is the older varient of a G400, I don't own a G400 so I can't make a direct comparison of it. The "Logitech" logo is well stuck on, as I've had it since march and no noticeable signs of damage are there, and it's been dropped, banged, carried etc. When you come to hold the MX518 though, you realise that the indentations are an optical illusion and the mouse surface is smooth.

Same process as the G703, get all the PCB components separated from the shell, just unscrew everything. The G300s feels better built, and it's smaller, so people with smaller hands should be comfortable using it with a palm or claw grip. programmable buttons: Use G HUB to program your favourite commands and macros to each of the eight buttons. Not a lot of people mention this, but when you have a mouse that’s too heavy, it can easily cause strain.

Now this is not exactly the newest piece of gaming hardware on the market; I actually bought it a few months ago, as you can see from the bits of paint that have been worn away from long nights of Counter Strike and Battlefield 2. Quote from: munch on Fri, 05 December 2014, 13:37:19 Rival has way worse materials/build quality than the MX518, IMO/IME. I aimed to keep it the same weight as the MX518, same form factor, and with all components mounted to the bottom so that the top could be easily removed. Polling rate is by default 1000 Hz but it can be adjusted to any of the following: 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz and 1000 Hz. The hole in the back is where the logo will go, so if you don't want to work with epoxy, and don't care about backlighting, leave that intact.Current games - ArmA 2 City Life 2 / DayZ, Battlefield 3 w/ Expansions, LA Noire, Skyrim, Company of Heroes and Anything else I want.
