Samsung’s two flagship phone families look incredibly similar, and it’s only the extra height, squarer edges and the dual-camera on the rear that differentiate the Note 8 from the Galaxy S8. Compared with the S8, it offers a noticeable improvement in sharpness, clarity, and texture, and considerably less artifacting. Samsung has come a very long way from the days of dimpled plastic covers, and it does not compromise on design. Two weeks of testing has us convinced: this is a true redesign of your average smartphone from top-to-bottom, edge-to-edge, and rear camera to, well, rear camera. Here's where we have to make some guesses, because we just don't have the information as of this writing.

The other concern you might have regards the battery, following the misfortune of the explosive Note 7. Maybe a tiny bit less, but we still don’t like its off-center rear location for the same reason: we keep blindly smudging the far-too-close dual-lens camera.

We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and improve our understanding of you. We were impressed with not only how loud the Note 8’s speaker could go, but also how little it was distorted at maximum volume.

SIM cards (MiniSIM) can be cut to MicroSIM, MicroSIM can be cut to NanoSIM and a SIM can even be cut to a NanoSIM (although not recommended). Google Assistant is on board too, living alongside Bixby, Samsung's own virtual assistant that's only just launched properly in the UK.The V30 is sure to be less expensive (that's how LG rolls), and it has the additional T-Mobile coverage created by 600MHz support. App Pairings are groupings of two apps that you can preset to launch together, by swiping in from the edge of the screen.

Every phone refurbished can have a second, third or fourth life in the hands of another user before it reaches its true end-of-life. The on-screen button that replaces it works fine, but the fingerprint sensor is now located on the back of the device and off-center – it’s a textbook flawed design, and the alternative iris scanner doesn’t always work when you want to unlock the phone.

Signs of wear on the body and screen, may have visible dents and scratches that do not affect the performance of the phone.
